The hundreds of years old Hotel Virginia, the district of El Pueblo Viejo located downtown and the Old Mission’s pink towers are some of Santa Barbara most popular spots. The County Courthouse features colorful murals, and the clock tower and observation deck are located nearby and offer a scenic sight over the region. The Lobero theatre was founded in 1873, and then redesigned by George Washington Smith in the 1920s. The city’s famous buildings wouldn’t have been possible without the founder’s advanced planning.
