There are 16 big generators in the room, and a smaller one that acts like 2 generators. They offer hydroelectric energy to the regions located nearby, Kenny Slaught explains. Southern California takes 28% of the structure’s energy, while Nevada receives 23% and Arizona, 18%. The Native American tribes located in the region also use the energy, and 90% of the water in Las Vegas comes from the dam. The lake in the dam, Lake Mead, can be one of the biggest water reservoirs in the US when reaching full capacity. As of now, it is handled by United States Bureau of Reclamation and is an important tourist attraction.
