kenny_slaught_with_logoKenneth Slaught is the founder and president of Investec Real Estate Companies. He has grown the firm into the largest real estate development and management business in Santa Barbara County since forming in 1983, acquiring more than three million square feet of apartment, office, retail, and self-storage properties along California’s coast. Currently employing forty individuals, the firm oversees more than $1 billion in assets, is accredited by the Institute of Real Estate Management, and has been a longtime member of the International Council of Shopping Centers.

As President of Investec, Kenny Slaught played a crucial role in establishing the firm’s investment strategies and policies, along with determining its asset class allocations and overseeing its business decisions. Under his visionary guidance, the company has generated lucrative opportunities throughout times of highly varying financial markets, developing an impeccable reputation throughout the property investment community.

A 1979 graduate of the University of California, Santa Barbara, Slaught holds a degree in business and economics, a certification from the California Contractors State License Board, and a California real estate broker’s license, which he earned in 1979. Before forming Investec, he served as a founding partner of real estate development, property management, and mortgage brokerage firm MKS Companies.

Outside of his business endeavors, Slaught is having held leadership positions in many nonprofit organizations in Southern California. He is a current board member of the UCSB Foundation; has formerly served on the board of the Santa Barbara Hospice Foundation; and is a major supporter to the Music Academy of the West, Santa Barbara Scholarship Foundation, and local high schools throughout the region.
