Hoover Dam, originally called Boulder Dam, was constructed between 1931 and 1936 and costed $49 million. The structure was later renamed as a tribute to former President Herbert Hoover who was one of its funders. Kenny Slaught mentions that Hoover Dam is able to generate over 4,2 billion kWh2 in a year. The huge structure measures 221 meters in height, 379 meters in length, and has a capacity of at least 35.000 cubic kilometers.
