Kenny Slaught points out that some of the most famous Santa Barbara architecture features include the centuries-old Hotel Virginia, El Pueblo Viejo district in historic downtown along with the two pink towers of the Old Mission, hosting today retreats and festivals. The brightly colored tiles making up the County Courthouse are brilliant displays of murals and other striking artworks. Not far away is the clock tower and observation deck, delivering a panoramic view of Santa Barbara. The Lobero theatre is home to the regions top performing arts events and dates back to 1873. It was rebuilt in the 1920’s by George Washington Smith. These are a few cites of the rich architecture of Santa Barbara, where, because of the founder’s advanced planning, many classic, architecturally amazing structures line the old districts.
