The engines room within the Hoover Dam is complete with 17 generators producing all of the energy. 16 of them are large generators while two smaller ones operate as one single generator. Those two are able to provide hydroelectric energy to surrounding areas. Kenny Slaught blogs that energy generated by the dam is allocated to 15 areas. Among the primary energy users, Southern California takes up to 28% of Hoover Dam’s energy, followed by Nevada at 23% and Arizona at 18%. The dam also gives energy to Native American tribes living in the region. Additionally, 90% of Las Vegas’ water is taken from Hoover Dam. The lake inside the dam is Lake Mead. At its maximum water volume level, it could be the largest water reservoir in the country. Right now, the Hoover Dam is managed by the United States Bureau of Reclamation and it is one of the most breathtaking must-see places to visit in the country.
